Violence Can Affect Every Workplace: Learn How To Be Better Prepared
March 9, 2023 @ 9:30 am - 11:00 am PST
We are all aware of the numerous recent mass shootings that have occurred across our country in recent weeks, each of which has left shattered lives in its wake. These tragedies have occurred in a variety of settings, including college campuses, retail settings, nightlife locations, and simply in streets and neighborhoods throughout America. Clearly, violence can happen in any place, and almost all of the locations where these shootings took place were workplaces of some sort.
However, there are core lessons that community leaders and employers can take from these incidents to be better prepared should they be confronted with a violent incident.
Our expert speaker, attorney Michael R. Watts, with Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo, focuses his practice on training and advising clients regarding workplace violence and safety issues. Because his information is so timely and important, the Orange County EAC is offering this program free of charge to all EAC members in California. Here are some of the key areas that Michael will cover in his presentation:
- Why preparation is critical—and how to better prepare.
- It is the employer’s duty to provide a safe workplace, including the development of strong workplace anti-violence policies.
- Why a Workplace Violence Prevention Plan (WVPP) may soon be a requirement for all employers.
- Free training resources that should be a part of your workplace violence prevention plan.
While the risk of workplace violence can never be fully mitigated, the above information could be vital for the safety and protection of your employees.
Do not miss this timely and important program.
